A MISLAID sketch of the life of Mrs Eugenia WORKMAN appears to-day. It should have been printed before, but was accidently mislaid:

Eugenia M. BARGER WORKMAN died March 2, 1884, at her residence in Jefferson county, Iowa, of consumption. She was born Dec. 2d, 1849; was married to James Monroe WORKMAN Dec. 30, 1869, when she came to this neighborhood, where she has ever since lived, beloved and respected. Shortly after her marriage she united with the Methodist Episcopal church here, and from that time on led a life that gave proof that she had been with Jesus and learned of Him. Early in her sickness she seemed to think her days were numbered. She spoke of death as a happy release, wishing only to live for the sake of her fatherless little ones, but when she fully realized her situation, she arranged all her worldly affairs, choosing homes for her children, two among her husband's relatives, and two among her own. After everything had been settled she seemed to let go all hold of the world, and longed to go to Jesus and her loved ones who had passed over.

Her sufferings were very great, but she bore them patiently. Early Sabbath morning it was evident death had claimed her, and his icy fingers were closing about her. We watched during the day, every moment expecting her departure. In the afternoon, after a spell of intense suffering, she commenced shouting and praising God till she could be heard in the next room. After she had been laid down she spoke to her father and husband who had nursed over the rivers before her, as if present. It seemed as if the spirits of the redeemed loved ones had come to bear her away, and just as the last breath fluttered upon her lips, to us standing by it seemed as if Heaven opened and she beheld its glories, for she raised her arm and pointed upward, her eyes following the direction. And thus she passed away, about 4 o'clock. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.
