Page 7, Column 5Former Legislator Dies at Fort Collins At Age of 101 Yrs.
FORT COLLINS [AP] -- Millard Follmore (sic) VANCE, former Colorado legislator who would have been 101 on May 23, died Thursday in a rest home.
A native of Fairfield, Iowa, VANCE moved to Ouray, Colo., in 1880 to prospect for gold. He homesteaded at Akron five years later and resided there until 1949, when he moved to Fort Collins to live with a daughter, Mrs. O. S. RAYNER.
VANCE was elected to the Colorado House of Representatives in 1904 for the first of two terms.
His wife died in 1928. Surviving, in addition to Mrs. RAYNER, are sons Alvin of Fort Collins, Harold of Arvada, Robert, Delmar and Eugene of Akron, and daughters, LaDene VANCE of Arvada and Mrs. Gertrude BALL of Yuma.
The funeral will be held on an unspecified date at Akron.
