LARRY DEAN MORGAN
Richland

Larry Dean MORGAN, 83, formerly of Richland, died early Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, at Keota Health Care Center in Keota, where he has lived the past eight years (note: in Keokuk Co., IA). He was born Nov. 20, 1936, in Fairfield to Eugene and Kathleen JAY MORGAN. He graduated from Brighton High School and attended college at Iowa Wesleyan in Mount Pleasant and Iowa State University in Ames. Larry Married Karen L. MEIS on Aug. 29, 1959, in Des Moines. He farmed most of his life until moving into Richland in 1989, worked bridge construction, was a carpenter, drove a school bus, was a musician and was instrumental instarting the Rubio Jam. Larry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, rodeos and dogs. He suffered a stroke in 2002. Larry was a member of Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Richland.

He is survived by his wife, Karen of Keota; one son, Mick MORGAN (Robyn) of Keota; two daughters, Kelley MEGONIGLE (Mark) of Cedar Rapids and Lori JOHNSTON (Steve) of Williamsburg; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Craig MORGAN of Richland; and one sister, Colleen KIMBLE (Byron) of Richland. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Kimberley MORGAN.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at Mother Cabrini Church in Richland with the Rev. Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery (note: in Keokuk Co., IA). Prayers for a Christian Wake will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, followed by visitation with the family until 8 p.m. Memorials for Hospice Compassus or First Responders in either Richland or Keota may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 110 N. Chesney, Keota, IA 52248. Gould Funeral Home of Richland is in charge of arrangements.
