Jesse L. GRABER, 83, 407 North B, died at 10:09 a.m. Sunday at the Jefferson County Hospital of an apparent heart attack.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery east of Fairfield.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Jesse L. GRABER was born August 5, 1897, near Birmingham. He was the son of Christian and Victoria STEWART GRABER.
He was reared and educated in the Fairfield area, lived in Ohio and Pennsylvania for a number of years and moved back to Fairfield eight years ago. GRABER farmed until 1937 and was a heavy equipment operator and maintance (sic) man.
He was a veteran of World War I serving with the U.S. Army in France. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
His marriage to Ada D. HICKENBOTTOM took place Aug. 5, 1922, at the home of her parents at Parsonsville east of Fairfiedld (sic).
In addition to his widow, GRABER is survived by one son, Lee GRABER, Wilton; six grandchildren; one grandchild; two sisters, Ruth DETRICK, Upland, Calif.; and Lina McLaughlin, Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Harry GRABER, Memphis, Mo., and Howard SHERLOCK, Utah.
He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
