Page 7, col. 1.A SKETCH OF MRS. HUYETT. Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Huyett, who died in this city the 29th ult., was a pioneer woman of Jefferson County, and in her active years had a wide acquaintance among its people. She was a Miss Claggett and was born in Frederick County, Md., October 31st 1822. In 1839 she was married to Capt. Peter L. Huyett of Washington County, Md., and they came to this county in 1851. From that time until 1866 they owned what has later been known as the Campbell farm in Cedar township, six miles southeast of this city, for many years one of the largest farms in Jefferson County. After its sale they made their home at St. Joseph, Mo., where Mr. Huyett died in 1881. They were the parents of six children, only two of whom are now living, S. Ringgold of this city, and Marshall O. of St. Joseph. Mrs. Huyett returned to Fairfield four years ago and made her home with a granddaughter, Mrs. L. O. Gaines. She was a woman with many christian virtues and much strength of character.....The body was taken to St. Joseph for burial Wednesday night.
