Leo Richard BROKKEN was born at his home in Jefferson County on December 31, 1940 to Eivind "Ed" and Anna LEU BROKKEN. He attended Fairfield high school, graduating in 1959. Leo was united in marriage to his best friend Mary "Dianne" McLAIN on August 8, 1964 in Lockridge, IA at the New Sweden United Methodist Church. Together they became proud parents to four children; Christopher, Rodger, Allen, and Joe. Leo worked hard to support his family. He sold cars, worked at Dexter Foundry, was a Transit Bus Driver, and farmed for many years.

Leo served in the Iowa National Guard and was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Eagles, and Elks. He loved playing cards Dianne and their group of friends. Leo was an avid fisherman, hunter, trapper, and storyteller. He loved to cheer on the Hawkeyes and very seldom missed watching or listening to a game. Above all he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and the many friends he met along the way. For more of Leo's story to to https://bit.ly/2Fodb9G.
