FairfieldHarold LILJEDAHL age 89, of Fairfield, passed away May 17, 2019, at his home
Visitation for family & friends will be 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 25, 2019, at First Lutheran Church. Memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Friedrich officiating. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church. Cards and memorials may be mailed to 1101 Liberty Drive, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.
Harold was born August 31, 1929, in Montezuma, IA to Robert Edward and Clara Helena (GANGSTEAD) LILJEDAHL. He married Alberta Yvonne HILL on January 2, 1949. This year they were married 70 years.
Harold worked for Iowa DOT for 43 years as a Maintenance Supervisor. He had liked working with electronics, repair TV's and fixing his grandkids broken toys. Harold was an outdoors person and enjoyed camping or boating. He loved to travel and spent 18 winters in Mission, Texas and 15 summers in International Falls, Minnesota.
He will be missed by his wife, Alberta; daughter, Ann (Don) GODWIN; daughter-in-law, Susan LILJEDAHL; 5 grandchildren, Paula BABCOCK, Carl BABCOCK, Timothy BABCOCK, Mary McATEE and Phillip McATEE; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret (Virgil) WAGNER.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; son, John "Keith" LILJEDAHL; and sister, Roberta OPPEDAHL.
