WashingtonDavid Gene GORDON, 73, of Washington, died Tuesday March 26, 2019, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport (note: in Scott Co., IA). He was born October 4, 1945, in Iowa City and adopted by Glen and Mabel RICE GORDON. Dave grew up in the West Chester/Keota area and graduated from Keota High School in 1964. He was a member of the U.S. Army for over 22 years and became an LPN while serving. Dave held many jobs during his life, he farmed with his father, worked at Hinshaw Stables in Richland, Target and Wal-Mart.
He married Rhonda STAGERS in Packwood February 15, 1985. He is survived by his wife of Washington, children: Lee (Kim) GORDON of Keota, Tina (Jason) WHITNEY, Cedar Rapids, Glenn GORDON of Des Moines, Monica WOOD, West Chester, Steven (Misty) FARRIER, Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Christina BOSHART-SHEETZ, Riverside, Amber GORDON (John Steele), Farmington, Daniel (Maggie) GORDON, Washington, Shawn GORDON (Grace Shafer) Brighton, and 27 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three children: Beverly, Dixie, Paytin and 2 infant grandchildren and one brother, Eldon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday April 1, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Washington with Rev. Darryl Carr officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation with the family will be held at the church, Sunday March 31, 3-5 P.M. Memorials to the American Cancer Society may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 1995 Larch Avenue, Washington, Iowa 52353. Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is in charge of arrangements.
