Monday, April 17, 2000Inez M. BYERS, 93, Martinsburg, died Friday, April 14, 2000 at Crestview Manor Care Center where she had been living the past seven years. Funeral services were held Monday at the Hedrick-Martinsburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Lloyd officiating. Burial was in the Packwood Cemetery, Packwood, IA. Foster Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Inez Maye HARDIN, daughter of Henry and Elsie TAYLOR HARDIN, was born March 10, 1907 at Packwood. She graduated from Ollie Public High School. In 1925, she married Kenzie WILLIAMS. The couple resided at Martinsburg and Oskaloosa. To this union, two children were born. Mr. WILLIAMS was killed in a work related accident in 1942. In 1947, she married Forrest BYERS at Oskaloosa. The couple farmed for 40 years near Martinsburg. Mr. BYERS died in 1991. She was a homemaker. She resided at Maplewood Manor at Keota for three years and Crestview Manor since June of 1993.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Gene NOLLER, Webster City, step daughter, Mildred Fern BYERS of Ollie, stepson and spouse, Everett and Barbara BYERS, Albuquerque, NM., eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, two step-great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, son and daughter-in-law, Kenzie WILLIAMS Jr., and Sherry WILLIAMS.
She was a member of the Hedrick-Martinsburg United Methodist Church and a former member of her neighborhood club.
