Craig W. ELMORE, 67, of Iowa City died early Friday Fegruary 22, 2019, at Parkview Manor in Wellman (note: in Washington Co., IA). Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home of Brighton.

Craig Wray ELMORE, 67, of Iowa City, formerly of Brighton, died early Friday February 22, 2019, at Parkview Manor in Wellman. He was born September 26, 1951, in Fairfield to Clifford Wray and Donna Ferne FLEIG ELMORE. Craig grew up in Richland and Brighton and graduated from Washington High School in 1969.

He graduated from Iowa Tech (now Indian Hills Community College) in Air Traffic Control and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Saratoga. Craig married Tammy WINN McDONALD and later divorced. He married Carolyn LOWE FORD in Golden Lake, ND July 24, 1992, and she died in 2013. Craig worked as an Air Traffic Controller in Cedar Rapids and in Fargo, ND. He also worked as a farmer and landscaper in Iowa City, Ottumwa and Des Moines.

Craig is survived by his children: Craig, Dominique, Joycee, step children: Jesse, Ron, Tillie, Victor, Kassandra, Labekka (Scott), and two sisters: Alanna HARRISON (Tom) of Pratt ,KS, and Luanne ARCHER (Jim) of Richland, and one brother, Doug ELMORE (Pattie) of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers: Tim and Daniel and 2 nieces: Kaela ELMORE and Tonya ARCHER.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday March 2, 2019, at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton with Pastor Mike Emhiser officiating. Burial will follow at Sandy Hook Cemetery north of Brighton with Military Honors by Richland American Legion Post No. 504. Visitation will be held at 10 A.M. immediately preceding the funeral at the funeral home. Memorials to Iowa City Hospice may be left at the funeral home or mailed to 31050 314th Street, Richland, Iowa 52585.
