Kathaleen F. LAMB, 68, of Packwood, died peacefully surrounded with family, on December 29, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Kathy was born in Indianola, Iowa, on November 28, 1950, to her loving parents of Franklin and Iris CASKEY IDDINGS.

Kathy graduated from Pleasantville Community School in 1969 and knew she wanted to attend Iowa State University where she majored in math with a teaching secondary degree. She loved music and was in the percussion. She was the first class in Iowa State History that would allow women into the marching band. While attending Iowa State, Kathy worked for the Iowa State Fire Marshal's office in Des Moines. Upon graduation, she was offered a job as the first woman fire inspector for the State of Iowa.

Kathy was the youth leader St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where she met Steven. They married on Valentine's Day, 1976. Their love of God and singing His praises brought them together and they could often be found touring the state leading Sunday worship, leading youth retreats, or giving special concerts.

Although she enjoyed her work at the state, it would never compare to the joy she found in the birth of their two children, Lora and Jeremiah. Even as job opportunities became available in Dubuque, the bigger questions had to be answered first; good churches, good schools, and good music programs for the whole family to participate. While in Dubuque, Kathy worked for the city Senior Housing Department as the Senior Housing Inspector where she would care for her staff as well as the people of the city.

She worked with the city Health Department to write grants through HUD to begin a premier lead abatement program. It was used as a model for other cities in the state as well as a resource for other cities around the country.

Kathy was a certified Lay Servant/Speaker and a Certified Lay Minister for the Iowa Conference of the United Methodist Church. She was instrumental in starting the downtown ministries, Saturday Food for the Soul and Saturday Night Praise and was there every Saturday until her health would no longer allow the trip downtown. Kathy led small group studies, Bible studies, Sunday School, she sung in the choirs, and was part of the praise band for St. Luke's for the nearly 30 years she was in Dubuque.

She loved to love on people and share Jesus whenever she could and as often as possible. It didn't matter where they lived, Kathy made friends and would warn you that once a friend, she will always be your friend. Some of her last words were to tell everyone and all her friends, "I love you and I'll see you again."

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Iris and Franklin IDDINGS. Those holding her memories close are her husband Steven LAMB, daughter Lora LAMB, Son Jeremiah (Lorinda) LAMB, her sister Rebecca (William) PRICE, her brother Larry (Becky) IDDINGS. Her grandchildren Ryan NEUENDORF, Robert NEUENDORF, Shawn BRANAN, Chase REEVES, and one great grandson, Adrian RHINEHART. Neices (sic) and Nephews are Ross (Allison), Brandon IDDINGS, Lauren (David) ERNST, and Kaley IDDINGS, Aaron PRICE, and Andrew PRICE.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday January 4, 2019, at Prairie View United Methodist Church near Ollie, Iowa with Rev. Dr. Michel Lundula officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery near Knoxville, IA.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. immediately preceding the service. Memorials to the Jesus Fund at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Dubuque, the Benevolence Fund at Prairie View United Methodist Church, Ollie or the Heifer Project may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 27131 Hwy 78, Ollie, Iowa 52576. Gould Funeral Home in Richland is assisting the family.
