KeosauquaRichard "Rick" BOYD, 59, of Keosauqua, Iowa passed away on October 18, 2018 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (note: in Iowa City, Johnson Co., IA). He was born on August 2, 1959 in Keosauqua, Iowa to Russell and Carol Jean HISSEM BOYD. He graduated from Keosauqua High School with the class of 1978.
Rick worked for Dexter Laundry in Fairfield and also at Boyd Grocery. He enjoyed playing Bingo, never missing a Friday night game. Rick liked visiting with people at the grocery store, but especially enjoyed the children. He was known for always having a smile and a positive spirit about him. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family and all those that knew him.
He is survived by a son, Kyle BOYD of Ottumwa, Iowa; six siblings, Randy (Bobbie) BOYD of Des Moines, Iowa, Rhonda STUTZMAN of Keosauqua, Ryan (Tami) BOYD of Carrollton, Texas, Robin (Rusty) LYONS of Keosauqua, Ross (Mindy) BOYD of Keosauqua, Regan BOYD of Fairfield; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Carol Jean BOYD.
His body has been cremated. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Pedrick Funeral Home - Keosauqua with Larry Shipley officiating. Visitaiton will open at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018 with family present to greet friends from 5 - 7:00 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home - Keosauqua. Burial will be at a later date at Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton, Iowa (note: in Van Buren Co., IA). Memorial contributions in Rick's honor may be made to his family.
