FairfieldArley "Art" Richard TALBOT age 81 of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics (note: in Iowa City, Johnson Co., IA).
Graveside service with military honors will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor James Cecil officiating.
Memorials may be made to the family and mailed to 602 West Kirkwood Ave., Fairfield, Iowa 52556.
Art was born August 27, 1937, in Tacoma, WA to Arley W and Alyce (BULLOCK) TALBOT. He married Judy Lyn KNAPP on September 7, 1980. They celebrated 37 years of marriage.
Art joined the Air Force in 1955. He has lived in Fairfield for 14 years. He worked for Primus Telecommunications as senior manager.
Art had a love for music. He played the guitar and wrote his own songs and poetry. It wasn't uncommon to find Art in the garage either working on cars or doing woodworking. Some of Art's other interests were motorcycles and watching science fiction. Spending time with family & friends was most important to him. He will be missed by those who called him husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa "poppie", brother, uncle and friend.
Left to share Art's memories are his wife, Judy of Fairfield; his children, Rochelle WATERS of Fairfield, IA, James TALBOT of Fullerton, CA, Lucinda and Richard BRYANT of Black Diamond, WA and Charline and Eric CARRUTHERS of Stockport, IA; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Connie MEINER, Sue EMME, Patricia HYDEN and Robbie STOGSDILL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dell TALBOT; and brother, Jerry TALBOT.
