Karla Kay CARR age 77 of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Sunnybrook Living Care Center.

Libertyville

Karla Kay CARR age 77, of Libertyville, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Sunnybrook Care Center in Fairfield.

Visitation for family & friends will be 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Behner Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will follow the visitation at the Dew Drop, Libertyville, IA.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus, Libertyville Library Fund or Libertyville Fire Department. Cards and memorials may be mailed to Jane Anne Harl, 1713 Hackberry Way, Batavia, IA 52533.

Karla was born November 13, 1940, in Burlington to Alvin and Juanita (CORNWELL) KINNEY. Alvin was owner of Kinney Construction.

Karla has lived in Jefferson County over 25 years. She was a homemaker and worked at Hawthorne in Fairfield. Karla bought The Dew Drop Inn from her friend, Donna Johnson and was owner for 20 years. She had a sociable personality and loved to be around people. Some of her interests were reading, playing cards, gardening and canning the produce from her garden. She was an avid 31 card player and her favorite thing to say was "deucey".

Left to share Karla's memories are her children, Lisa VORHIES, Michael KAUFMAN (Sherry), Shayla WHITE all of Fairfield, and Andy EMERSON (Hugh) of Columbia, MO; 5 grandchildren, Eric VORHIES, Travis KAUFMAN, Brent WYNN, Justin KAUFMAN and Matt KAUFMAN; 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and one brother Randy (Deb) KINNEY of Burlington, IA. Also left to mourn her passing is her special friend, Jane Anne Harl.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Ricky Lee; sister, Janice (Joe) SULLIVAN; and brother, Gary (Irene) KINNEY.
