JOHN WYSOSKE'S BODY DISCOVERED FLOATING IN RIVER

BRIGHTON MAN HAD BEEN MISSING FOR OVER A WEEK -- BROTHER FINDS BODY

Dr. G. W. Hay, county coroner, was summoned to Brighton late Sunday afternoon to take charge of the body of John WYSOSKE, which was found in the Skunk river about 4:30 Sunday.

WYSOSKE disappeared from his home near Brighton a week ago last Friday and had not been seen since. It was thought probable that he had thrown himself into the river, which is not far from is (sic) home.

Yesterday being the ninth day after his disappearance, his brother, Frank WYSOSKE, thought his body might have come to the surface and with two companions started a search. The body, in a badly bloated condition, was found floating about a mile from the WYSOSKE home.

A Victim of Insanity

Two years ago John WYSOSKE's mind became so unbalanced that he was brought before the commission on insanity and adjudged insane, being taken to the sanitarium at Mt. Pleasant, where he seemed to improve. Last fall he was released on parole and returned to his home. He was about 26 years of age.

Of late he had been acting queerly again and his brothers had expected to take him back to the hospital this week. Last Friday evening he became violent while he and his mother were alone in the home. He broke up some furniture and threw a lighted lamp on the floor.

The mother rushed to a neighbor's to secure assistance but when she returned the young man had disappeared. It was surmised that in all probability had jumped into the river, but the water was so high that no search was made.

Several nights before in another of his outbreaks he had buried his trunk and clothes in a corn field and "planted" his boots, after filling them with water.

No Inquest; Funeral Thursday

Dr. Hay decided that no inquest was necessary, the facts being apparent and uncontradicted.

Funeral services will probably be held tomorrow morning at the Catholic church in Pleasant Plain.

Surviving him are his mother, Mrs. Albert WYSOSKE, and five brothers and three sisters. One brother is attending the state university at Iowa City.

The WYSOSKE home is three and one-half miles east of Brighton.
