BRIGHTON -- Richard SHELANGOSKI, 55, lifetime resident of the Brighton area, died suddenly Friday at 10:15 p.m. at his home here.
Last rites will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church at East Pleasant Plain in charge of the Rev. Francis Bass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the Gould Funeral Home.
SHELANGOSKI operated a tavern in Brighton from 1942 until his retirement last July. He was born near Germanville July 12, 1913, the son of Peter and Stella ZMYSLONY SHELANGOSKI. He was married July 28, 1937 to Clara DRZYCIMSKI.
Surviving are his widow and two sons, Robert and Paul, at home; his father, Peter SHELANGOSKI; a brother, Hubert, Carbon Cliff, Ill.; and a sister, Mrs. Barbara MEEK, Davenport.
His mother, two sons and two brothers are deceased. SHELANGOSKI was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Eagles Lodge (sic - Aerie/Club) of Fairfield.
