Mrs. Lucy ROGALL (sic - ROGAL), 71, Dies Suddenly At Her Pleasant Plain Home

PLEASANT PLAIN, Ia., Nov. 14 -- Funeral services are pending for Mrs. Lucy ROGALL, 71, who died at 8:30 a.m. today at her home 2½ miles south of Pleasant Plain. She had been in her usual health and was working in the yard today shortly before her death. When she failed to return to the house, her son, Herman who lives at home, went to investigate. He found her unconscious and she died shortly after.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt ZMYSLONY, born in Poland December 8, 1878. She moved to this country with her parents when she was nine years old and they settled in the Richwoods community. She was married to Joseph ROGALL in 1895 and they lived for the past 45 years in the community where she died.

She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Lou VOYLES, Mrs. Joseph SERENCY and Mrs. Walter WINIKATE (sic - WINIKATES), all of Chicago; Mrs. Joe GEVOK (sic - GEVOCK), and Mrs. Vincent SHELANGOSKI, East Pleasant Plain; three sons, Leonard, Dayton, Ohio; Frank, in California and Herman, at home. Other survivors are a brother, P. J. ZMYSLONY, Lynnwood, California, and a sister, Mrs. Mary SMITH of Arkansas.

The body is a the Omar Hoskins funeral home in Brighton where plans await word from relatives.

MRS. LUCY ROGALL

Brighton -- Mrs. Lucy ROGALL, 71, collapsed while doing chores on the ROGALL farm 2½ miles south of Pleasant Plain at 8:30 Tuesday morning, and died a few minutes later.

Mrs. ROGALL was found by her son, Herman ROGALL, who went to look for her when she did not come back to the house in a short time.

A native of Poland, Mrs. ROGALL was born Dec. 8, 1878, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt ZMYSLONY. The family came to the United States and settled in the Pleasant Plain vicinity when she was 9 years old. In 1895 she was married to the late Joseph ROGALLS (sic).

Mrs. ROGALLS had lived on the same farm for the past 45 years.

Surviving are 3 sons and 5 daughters: Herman ROGALLS, at home; Leonard ROGALLS, Dayton, Ohio; Frank ROGALLS, of California; Mrs. Lou BOYLES, Mrs. Joseph FERENCY and Mrs. Walter WINIKATE, all of Chicago, and Mrs. Joe GEVOK and Mrs. Vincent SHELANGOSKI, both of Pleasant Plain. Three sons died previously.

Also surviving are a brother and a sister: P. J. ZMYSLONY, Lynwood, Calif., and Mrs. Mary SMITH, of Arkansas.

The body is at the Omar Hoskins funeral home.

Fines Rites Friday For Mrs. Lucy ROGALL

Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy ROGALL who died suddenly at her home south of Pleasant Plain Tuesday morning, will be held at the Polishville Catholic church southwest of Brighton Friday morning at 10 a.m. The Rev. Paul Wetzstein will be in charge and burial will be in the adjacent cemetery.

The body was taken this morning from the Omar Hoskins funeral home in Brighton to her home south of Pleasant Plain, where the Rosary will be recited both Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
