D. POHREN dies at 86

BRIGHTON -- Dorothy POHREN, 86, died at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield on Friday at 6 p.m.

The rosary will be recited at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton Sunday at 8 p.m. The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain with the Rev. Louis Leonhardt officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

She was born Nov. 25, 1891 in Pleasant Plain, the daughter of Matthias and Teckla STELMACH DRISH. She was married to Leo J. POHREN on Jan. 25, 1921 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield.

She is survived by her husband; one son, Richard POHREN of East Pleasant Plain; one daughter, Marjorie COUNTRYMAN of Birmingham; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and one granddaughter.

The couple lived on a farm near East Pleasant Plain until 1944 when they moved to Fairfield where POHREN worked at Dexter Co., retiring in 1965. They then moved to Birmingham and made their home with their daughter, Mrs. COUNTRYMAN.

Mrs. POHREN was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Fairfield and of St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society.
