Jenna Evelyn FOSTER was born December 23, 1924 in Fairfield, IA to Forrest and June GIRE LEATHERS on the family farm. She attended Fairfield High School and then Iowa State University, graduating with a degree in Home Economics. After graduation she taught school in both the Washington and Fairfield School Districts. On June 13, 1947 in Fairfield, IA, Jenna married LeRoy H. FOSTER. Jenna always worked together with LeRoy throughout their marriage. Together they ran the Deep Rock full service gas station, an Allis-Chalmers Implement business, Foster Auction Gallery a consignment auction house, and finally, Foster Furniture. Jenna worked hard at the family business, but always found time to take care of things at home and be a loving mother to their two children, Gary and David. LeRoy passed away March 28, 1985 and Jenna continued to remain active, working part-time at Gimbels Jewelry as a sales clerk. When Jenna had some time to herself she enjoyed sewing and craft projects. She was active in several women's social groups such as BPW (Business Professional Women), the Soroptimist International Group as well as beginning a widows group called the Solitaires, who still actively meet today. She was also a lifelong member of the Fairfield First United Methodist Church.
Jenna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, LeRoy (1985); two brothers, Max (June) LEATHERS and Robert (Jean) LEATHERS, and one daughter-in-law, Pamela WADE FOSTER.
