OBITUARY.

Clinton LONDQUIST

A feeling of sorrow was prevalent throughout the Richwoods and surrounding communities as Clinton LONDQIST (sic) passed away Saturday night at 9:00 p.m. following two weeks of intense suffering.

Stricken, while taking his brother to school three weeks ago, he entered the Jefferson county hospital on Saturday Sept. 7, and underwent an operation for appendicitis. His condition was serious, but he made a surprising recovery, until a previous injury complicated it. As an only chance, he submitted to a second operation on Thursday Sept. 19, battling bravely and cheerfully for his life, and praying earnestly for the recovery of his health.

Clinton was born Oct. 4, 1915 in Penn township, Jefferson county, Ia., and spent his entire life in the Richwoods community. He received his education in the local school and was graduated from the Pleasant Plain High school on May 23, with the class of 1935 just four months before his burial on Sept. 23. He was a youth of promise, and like all boys at his age, he made many plans for his future.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Verle LONDQUIST, two younger brothers, Gerald and Donald, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joel HOSKINS, and the following uncles and aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Seth HOSKINS, Mr. and Mrs. Ray IRELAND and Mr. and Mrs. Charles HEDGE. Also a number of other relatives and friends to whom he had endeared himself with his happy cheerful manner.

One little sister, Lucille preceded him in death several years ago.

Funeral services, in charge of Rev. Murry Haworth and Rev. Stemple White were held at the Friends church in Pleasant Plain on Monday at 10:30 a.m. and interment was made in the nearby cemetery.

Rev. Haworth chose for his text "Remember Thy Creator in the days of Thy Youth." Reading a scripture from Romans the 12th chapter.

Miss Pearle Wikoff beautifully and fittingly, sang "Some Day He'll Make It Plain To Me," "Above The Bright Blue" and "We'll Say Goodnight Here, But Good Morning Up There."

The casket attendants were his boyhood chums and friends Julius Diers, Arthur Worley, Kenneth Hawk, Glen Streed, Edward Shafer, and Elvin Reed.

The casket was banked with beautiful floral tributes and he was laid away with the love and sympathy of the entire community.
