Kerry Lynn BOLING was born August 28, 1954 in Ottumwa, IA to Glen and Donna CREEK BOLING. The family spent several years in Ottumwa, before moving to a farm near Batavia, IA. It was early in Kerry's life when he began calling Batavia his home. He attended school in Fairfield, graduating with the class of 1972.

Kerry had grown up with a love for farming and working with his hands. He began working construction and quickly became a skilled craftsman. His love and skill for construction took him to several different places, but he returned to the farm to work with his father, farming and building houses. In 1975, Kerry went to Oskaloosa, IA with some friends to see a band. It was here where he met Sue QUIST. This was the beginning of a relationship that lasted nearly 40 years.

The two were apart while Sue served in Germany with the United States Army. Kerry went to see Sue while she was in Germany and the two were married in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 14, 1978. They returned together and spent a year at Ft. Hood, TX before returning to Batavia. Kerry and Sue soon began their family, becoming the loving parents to their daughter, Kristin.

As the years passed, Kerry retired from construction but continued to put his skills to work at Pennsylvania Place as a maintenance worker. The last ten years were spent working for the Ottumwa YMCA. Kerry loved hunting, fishing, looking for mushrooms, and a good game of cards. He and Sue collected Planter's Peanut Memorabilia and enjoyed traveling with a group of friends that had the same interest. As he became a grandfather, he took on the role of his grandchildren's biggest fan at their events.

Kerry cared deeply for his family and always made sure to put them first. He will be deeply missed by his family and many, many friends.

Kerry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary BOLING.

Left to share his story is his loving wife, Sue BOLING of Batavia, IA; one daughter, Kristin (Josh) BOLING of Ottumwa, IA and their children Jocelyn and Hailey WARE; one sister, Jamie (Larry) PARKER of Batavia, IA as well as many extended family and a host of friends.
