BILL L HUDSON
Burlington

Bill L. HUDSON, 84 of Burlington and formerly of Lockridge passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington (note: in Des Moines Co., IA).

Bill was born on August 13, 1933, Cincinnati, Iowa the son of Jesse L. and Ruth J. (HENDERSON) HUDSON. He was united in marriage to Dorothy JEFFREY on September 29, 1956, in Fairfield. He served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged February 28, 1961. Bill farmed in the Lockridge community, served as mayor of Lockridge, owned and operated a body shop in Lockridge and was active in the Lockridge Baptist Church.

Bill worked for the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown and later at Walmart in the loss prevention department. He enjoyed wood working, gaardening but most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion and the Lockridge Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Burlington and their children; Jeff (Vallerie) HUDSON of Lockridge, Kathy (Ken) MORRIS, Billy HUDSON and Jodi (Rob) WELCHER all of Burlington, his grandchildren; Jesse (Michelle) HUDSON, Galen HUDSON, Taylor HUDSON, Mandy (Jack) HUNTER, Sean (Joni) MORRIS, Amanda MORRIS, Vanessa (David) YOUNGBLOOD and Cody WELCHER, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, two brothers; Jack (Lucille) HUDSON of HIllsboro and Jerry (Charlotte) HUDSON of Burlington.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Isaac HUDSON.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Ed Wisener officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Friday where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard. Memorials may be directed to the Lockridge Baptist Church or to the Great River Hospice House in his memory.
