AFTER A LONG ILLNESS…GEORGE W. RAYMOND…..had been a resident of Fairfield for the past two years, coming here from La Platta, Mo. MR. RAYMOND was born July 9, 1849, in Louisville, Ky., where the early part of his life was spent. In early manhood he went to Ohio and at Warren, that state, enlisted Jan. 4, 1864 in Co. A, First Ohio Battery. In 1892 he came to this city and remained for a year, in the employ of MR. RUMER, when he went to Colo., afterwards living at La Platta, Mo., where he was married June 12, 1894, to MRS. ANNA GLASGOW, who survives him. He again came to Fairfield in 1896 and since then this has been his home. He was a man of quiet disposition and is highly spoken of among his friends and acquaintances….
