ROBERT E ROSS
Climax Springs, MO

Robert E ROSS passed away Saturday Feb. 24, 2018 in Climax Springs, Missouri at the age of 68. Bob was born Oct. 30, 1949 in Duncan Oklahoma to Bob and Jo Ann PIERCE ROSS. He graduated in 1967 from Duncan Christian School. He attended Bible Missionary Institute and spent the summers working for Dale Miller of Richland Iowa.

He enlisted in the US Marine Corp in 1969 during the Viet Nam War (sic - Vietnam Conflict) and served on the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service in 2016. He loved to hunt and fish. He was an avid reader and collected many western and adventure books.

He met his wife, Norma LONG, in Fairfield Iowa in 1974 but it wasn't the right time for them. He married Susan ZOOK in 1976 and they later divorced. He reunited with Norma in 1996 and they married in 1998 in Leavenworth, Kansas.

In addition to his spouse he is survived by sons, Bret LONG and Jeremiah (Holly) WADE, and daughter Megan (Daniel) WILLIAMS. Other survivors include his mom, Bobbie Jean ROSS, sisters Christa (Steve) FIELDS, Cindy (Steve) CAMPBELL and Elaine (Lyndell) CARNAHAN, and brother Steve (Peggy) ROSS, uncle Tony (Marge) ROSS and aunt Evelyn (Doug) PIERCE and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by an honorary daughter Kathy Armitage.

Grandchildren include Cody LONG, Caleb LONG, Jordan WILLIAMS, Paige LONG, Jason VINSICK, Christian WILLIAMS, Sarena WILLIAMS and Makenzie WILLIAMS.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Jo Ann PIERCE ROSS, sister Eugenia ROSS, grandparents, Henry and Carrie CREEL ROSS and John and Mamie DAUGHERTY PIERCE.

According to his wishes, Bob has been cremated and the remains will be buried and a memorial service held in Duncan Oklahoma at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Veteran's Village, Kansas City, Missouri or a library or service organization of your choice.
