DEATH OF MRS. GUDGELL.

Editors Ledger: Died, in Fairfield, Iowa, Feb. 22, 1883, MRS. Margaret Louisa GUDGELL, in the twenty-ninth year of her age. Her maiden name was
MULINIX (sic. a/k/a MULLINIX). Her disease was consumption, that fatal destroyer which had already, in the last thirteen years, taken her father, two brothers and two sisters. She leaves behind, to mourn her untimely death,a mother, two brothers, one child, and many relatives and friends. She made a profession of religion in her seventeenth year, and died trusting in
the grace of God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Notes: Maiden name is MULLINIX as far as is known. There are variations of that surname, so family researchers should be aware of variations.

Margaret Louisa may be a daughter of Isriael MULLINIX and Margaret Ann MINNER MULLINIX. This has not been 100% proven, but is quite likely. They are buried in Bethesda cemetery, Jefferson county, Iowa.

She was buried in the public grounds section of Old Fairfield City cemetery and evidently had a headstone at one point (listing her in lot PG-237), but the stone was/is missing as of 2009. Don't know what happened to it.
