Emma J., wife of B. L. GOSICK, died at her home northeast of this city last night, after an illness of two weeks from uraemia, a form of blood poisoning. Mrs. GOSICK was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clark VAN NOSTRAND, and was born on the farm on which she died December 28th, 1861. She was married there December 28th, 1882, and was the mother of six children, five of whom are living. She was a member of the Christian congregation of this city and was active in its good works as well as those of the community in which she lived. A woman of intelligence and strength of character, she was a devoted wife and mother and an affectionate daughter. She will be sadly missed in the neighborhood in which her life was spent and the sympathies of all its members will go out to the stricken husband and family.

Mrs. Ben GOSSICK Expires Tuesday Evening Abuot (sic) Seven O'clock
Mrs. Ben GOSSICK passed suddenly away at her home near this city, Tuesday evening at seven o'clock after a short illness(.) Mrs. GOSSICK had been ill about two weeks with an attack of brain fever but was thought to be slowly improving. The family had no thought that death was so near their happy home. During the day yesterday the sufferer seemed so much better that her husband and her aged father, Mr. VAN NOSTRAND, and her brother and wife come into the city to attend the gospel services at the Christian church. Shortly after they had arrived, a telephone message to Rev. Littleton, announced the sad news. It was this friend's sad duty to impart the news to the loved ones, who at once hastened to the home.
The deceased was one of the valued members of the Christian church and her sudden death, when announced from the pulpit at the close of the services, cast a deep gloom on every face. Tears were wrung from many hearts as the news was told, and the grand meeting of the evening was closed with a prayer to the Heavenly Father in behalf of the sorrowing loved ones left in this home.
No arrangements have yet been made for the funeral, but it will probably be held some time tomorrow afternoon. The deepest sympathies of the whole community go out to this family in their time of sorrow.
