H. M. HOXIE, general manager of Gould’s Southwestern Railway System, and known to old residents of Fairfield and Jefferson County as “HUB” HOXIE, died at his rooms in the Metropolitan Opera House, St. Louis, Tuesday…Forty years ago HOXIE was a boy from 15 to 18 years old in Fairfield, his father being proprietor of the hotel which stood upon the ground now occupied by Jordan’s brick block on the West side of the square…From here he went to Des Moines…..
