KICKED BY A STALLION. GEORGE H. STEWART, a young man well known in this city, where he had been a student at Parsons College for five or six years past, died from the effects of a kick by a horse Saturday evening, at RICHARD FISHER’S farm in Cedar township. His vacations for several summers past have been spent in labor on EDWARD CAMPBELL’S farm in the same township, and he had gone to FISHER’S the evening previous on business for that gentleman. Some of the men were leading the stallion about the yard, and STEWART unthoughtedly approached the animal from behind and was so close that he received the full force of a kick in the bowels. The young man was prostrated by his injuries and was immediately carried into MR. FISHER’S house and a messenger dispatched for a physician. Little could be done for him, however, and he lingered in great pain until Saturday evening. The remains were brought to this city for interment, the funeral occurring from MR. CAMPBELL’S residence Sunday afternoon, DR. EWING conducting the services. Deceased was about 25 years of age, a bright, studious and industrious young man, and teachers, fellow students, and employers spoke of him in the highest terms. He came to this city from Washington County, where his widowed mother also resided. Recently she has removed to Kansas, however, and although a number of telegrams were sent, it was impossible to learn her present place of residence. Kind friends have cared for the remains of the dead boy and laid them tenderly away in their resting place.
