Death of Mrs. John HOAGLIN.

At her home in Mt. Pleasant Friday night, February 5, Mrs. John HOABLIN departed this life. Mrs. HOAGLIN had for the past two years been afflicted with a cancer, from which she suffered great pain, but through all her suffering she bore it patiently as a true Christian until death came and ended this life of affliction.

Deceased was born May 14, 1828, in Warren county, Tenn., and was married to John HOAGLIN at St. Louis in 1847. In 1850 they moved to Salina where they lived until some twelve years ago when they moved to Chariton. Of late years Mrs. HOAGLIN's health had been so poorly that her sons prevailed on their parents to move to Mt. Pleasant where they could care for and watch over her. To Mr. and Mrs. HOAGLIN thirteen children were born, eight of whom are living, six sons and two daughters, all of whom, with the exception of one son, Archie, who lives in Montana with the aged husband and father, attended the funeral. Of the other children, Hannibal, Jackson and William are in business in Mt. Pleasant; Fremont is in business in Hillsboro, and George, the youngest son, lives at home; the oldest daughter lives at Lucas and the youngest in Nebraska. All are married except the youngest son.

At her request her body was brought to Salina for interment (note: at Upper Richwoods Cemetery). The funeral services where (sic) held at the M. E. church, of which she had been a member since 1852, at 10 A.M. Sunday, the services being conducted by Rev. S. T. Horton, who took for his text the 2d chapter of Titus, 14th verse. The funeral was largely attended by her old neighbors and friends. The remains were interred in the Richwoods cemetery. Mrs. HOAGLIN was a good wife, a kind mother and an obliging neighbor, and the aged husband and the children have the sympathy of all in the sad hour of their affliction.

Sweetly she slumbers
Her sickness is o'er,
The love of her children
She needs no more.

We press to her forehead
The last kiss of love
We know that angels welcome
Our mother above.
