AlbiaMona SMITH, 79 of Albia, formerly of Ollie, died January 6, 2018 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia. Mona was the daughter of Carl BEDKER and Mrytle (sic) JOHNSON DALY. After Mona's father passed in 1940 her mother married Charles [Ed] DALY and she gained 7 siblings. Mona graduated from North Platte High School. After making Iowa her home she attended Indian Hills. She enjoyed painting, crafts and was always busy on projects. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister, Arlene [Don] KELSO; step siblings, Phyllis PRIEST, Byron DALE, Vera [Bill] JIVIDEN; her children, Linda [Ronald] DEARBORN of Ollie, Calvin (Joyce) DYER of Chariton; her step children, Ray GWINN Jr. [Marie], Larry GWINN, Sheila [Hoyt] GENTY; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was proceeded (sic) in death by her parents Carl BEDKER, Charles and Myrtle DALY; brothers Dale BEDKER, Lavern BEDKER; stepbrothers Emory DALY, Eldon DALY, Clinton DALY, and Dick DALY.
A Memorial Service will be 3:30 pm, January 12th at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.
