AN OLD TIME BURLINGTON EMPLOYEE. JAMES HAYES, who died at Glendale the 1st inst., was an old time employee of the C. B. & Q. Railway company. He came here with the construction of the B. & K. railroad in 1858, and had resided here uninterruptedly since that time. He was for more than a third of a century section foreman at Glendale. He was a good man and citizen, honest in his dealings with his fellow men and faithful to his employers in every trust. MR. HAYES was a native of Ireland and was about seventy years of age. Five children survive him—MATTHEW, CATHERINE and ANNA at home, JOHN, a railway conductor in Utah, and WILLIAM, a station agent in Colorado. Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s church, this city, the 4th inst. by REV. H. J. HOGAN.
