She Was Called Home.

Mrs. Narcissa D. BECK, wife of the late James Shriver BECK, died at her home in this city last evening about 8 o'clock. Deceased had been in ill health for many years, and since the death of her husband last winter had given up all hope of recovery. Mrs. BECK was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph JUNKIN, who came to Jefferson county in 1845 and to Iowa in 1843. She was born at Wheeling, West Virginia, April 22d, 1826, and was married in this county March 1st, 1849. Two children were born to her. One, a son, died in early life, and the other is Lucy H., wife of John H. ATKINSON of this city. She was a sister of W. W. JUNKIN of The Ledger. Most of Mrs. BECK's life since her marriage was spent in this city and county, although for several years the family resided at Council Bluffs in the early days of that place, where the husband operated a ferry across the Missouri river. Among the older residents of this portion of the state she had a wide acquaintance and many warm friendships. Mrs. BECK was a member of the Presbyterian church during the greater part of her life, and was one of the oldest members of the congregation of that denomination in this city. She was a most excellent woman in all the relations of life, and there are many old friends in the community who will join with the family in sorrow at her death. The funeral will occur from the family residence tomorrow, Thursday, at 2 p.m.
