DEATH OF JAMES M. HEATON, who grew to manhood and had many warm friends in this city….at his home in Burlington Saturday. Born at Senecaville, Ohio June 27, 1846, came to Fairfield with his parents when a child of four years. He enlisted for service in the war of the rebellion in this city, in Co. B, 19th Iowa Infantry, and returned here when discharged. July 16, 1867, married MISS. EMMA SPIELMAN, who with three grown children survive him, all residing in Burlington. It is nearly 25 years since MR. HEATON removed from Fairfield and most of that time he has spent as a traveling salesman…His widowed mother, MRS. ELIZABETH HEATON, still resides in this city, as well as other members of the family. Remains interred at Burlington Monday. (From SPIELMAN Family History he married EMILIA SPIELMAN, born Feb. 23, 1847 on the home farm at Germanville, daughter of JOHN and MARIE SALOME (BERTSCH) SPIELMAN. Moved to Burlington, Iowa in 1875 where she died Feb. 18. 1911.)
