Charles L. KESSLER, age 92 of Fairfield, Iowa passed away peacefully October 10th, 2017, at Jefferson County Hospital. He was born July 27, 1925, in Des Moines, Iowa. Charles was raised in Rubio, Iowa the son of Charles P. KESSLER and Helen M. VAN DYKE.
Visitation for family & friends will be 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at First United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Fairfield, Iowa on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 11:00am (sic) with Reverend Beth Harbaugh officiating. After the service there will be military rites at the church. Private burial of cremains will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to - www.titustask.com. Titus Task is a non-profit organization that pursues a future for orphaned and vulnerable children and was founded by his graddaughter, Lori TUGWELL.
Charles was a graduate of Richland High School. He was a WWII Navy veteran, a lifelong farmer, business owner, an active member of the community and a loving Husband and Father.
He is proceeded (sic) in death by his parents and daughter Bobby K. JOHNSON. He is survived by his wife, Mercedes Z. KESSLER of Fairfield; two sons, Charles G KESSLER of Mount Pleasant, Richard (Rose) A. KESSLER of Richland, Iowa; two daughters Jennifer KESSLER of Fairfield and Natalia (Joe) GRODECKI of Davenport, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and his sister Mary Jane WILKEY of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
