Death of Abraham WEYGANDT.

Abraham WEYGANDT, an old resident of this county, died at his home in the western part of this city Tuesday morning at twenty minutes after four o'clock. He had been very poorly for the four months past and had been steadily growing weaker for four weeks before his death, although he was not confined to his bed until about ten days ago.

Mr. WEYGANDT had lived in Fairfield for six years, coming here from his farm, nine miles northwest of town. He was born in Washington county, Pennsylvania, September 1, 1823, and grew to manhood in that county. He was married to Miss Catherine WEILLS, April 16, 1857, and in 1863 they moved to this county, settling on the farm where he always lived until coming to this city. Of the six children born to them, five are living. They are A. C. and G. W. WEYGANDT, of Eldon, Iowa; Minnie, of Boston, Mass.; Ella, of Concord, N.H.; and Mrs. Fritz GOEHNER, of this city. His wife Catherine died in this county on the 1st of February, 1869, and Mr. WEYGANDT was again married on October 2, 1872, to Miss Matilda GANTZ, daughter of Jacob GANTZ of this county. To them were born three children, two of whom, J. A. and May, are living. The other, a daughter, died in this city December 23, 1897. All of the children except Minnie and Ella are at home.

The funeral took place from the residence this afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. W. J. Funkey, of the Lutheran church, of which denomination Mr. WEYGANDT was a member, conducted the services.

The family desire to express thanks to their neighbors and friends for the many kindnesses shown during the time of Mr. WEYGANDT's illness and death.
