FLORENCE SCANNELL DEAD. FLORENCE G. SCANNELL was born in Kerry County, Ireland, May 18, 1842, and died at his home west of town last Tuesday afternoon. In 1863 MR. SCANNELL came to America and settled in New York. He enlisted and served two years in the Civil War…..On Mar. 7, 1867, he married ABAGAIL CASEY. They came to Jefferson County in 1869 and have since made this their home. Twelve children, all of whom, with the mother remain to mourn. Eleven present at the funeral; one son, T. M. SCANNELL, in the west, did not receive the news in time to reach here. Those present were: MRS. C. D. GILCHRIST, FLORENCE G., and D. J. SCANNELL of Davenport; J. W. of Ottumwa; W. E. and JOE, of Muscatine; MRS. WILL THOMA of Libertyville; R. M. of Rock Island; EMMETT of Chariton, and HUGH and PAUL, of this city. Funeral services in St. Mary’s Catholic church last Friday morning….
