Page 7 col. 3DEATH OF JAMES ROBINSON. Well known to many in this city, though more on account of his extreme old age than for anything else. Died at the poor house here Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock. MR. ROBINSON was in his 106th year. He had never married. Born in County Antrim, Ireland, and was known in that country by MR. NATHANIEL CRAWFORD, who lives south of town. MR. ROBINSON had a personal acquaintance with many noted men in this country and was very intelligent…At one time he was the possessor of a large amount of wealth and during the Civil War fitted out a regiment of soldiers at his own expense. However, a gentleman of untarnished character, kind-hearted and an earnest Christian, he was buried in a pine box and his remains taken to the grave without a single mourner. He had spent many years at Dubuque, this state, and was widely known in the west.
