... Mrs. Margaret GIFT.
Mrs. Margaret GIFT, widow of Charles GIFT, passed away this afternoon at 2:50 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Delzell N. GREEN, 502 West Broadway.
Mrs. GIFT was 86 years old Feb. 20, and she had been ill for some time. Funeral arrangements had not been made at this time.

The last rites for Mrs. Margaret F. GIFT, pioneer resident of this city, who passed away yesterday afternoon, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the home, 502 W. Broadway, in charge of Dr. U. S. Smith of the Methodist church. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery. The members of the Woman’s Relief Corps and the Daughters of Union Veterans will attend in a body.
Mrs. GIFT was born at Birmingham, Iowa, Feb. 20, 1844, the daughter of James H. and Susanah PARKER, pioneer settlers of Iowa. She was united in marriage to Charles GIFT April 22, 1869, and he preceded her in death Aug. 30, 1898. He was a Civil War Veteran. For the past 27 years her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Delzell GREEN, have lived with her and tenderly cared for her in her declining years. Besides Mrs. GREEN she leaves the following children: Mrs. William MATHER and Mrs. Pearl McELHANY of California, and William Parker GIFT of Oregon.
Mrs. GIFT was a faithful member of the Methodist church and she was a member of the Woman's Relief Corps.

Mrs. Margaret F. GIFT Rites.
Many friends paid tribute to the memory of Mrs. Margaret F. GIFT, who passed away Wednesday afternoon, at the funeral services held yesterday. The last rites were conducted by Dr. U. S. Smith of the Methodist church at her home, 502 West Broadway, at 2:30 o'clock.
Mrs. A. F. Greef and Mrs. Frank Pierson had charge of the music and the songs, "Going Down the Valley One by One," and "Asleep in Jesus," which she requested, were sung. The casket attendants were chosen by Mrs. GIFT and were: Frank Duncan, Carl Garmoe, Ray Maxwell, Ed. Fligg, Charles Gage and Stanley Kerr. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery. The W. R. C's. and the Daughters of Union Veterans attended the funeral in a body.
The following persons from out-of-town attended the services: Mr. and Mrs. A. C. PARKER of Derby, Iowa, Mr. PARKER being a brother of Mrs. GIFT, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. PARKER of Humeston, Iowa, Mrs. Nettie Barger and son, Loren, of Derby, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. GIFT, Miss ElizabetH GIFT, Mrs. C. C. Baum and Mrs. Vertia Armstrong, all of Ottumwa.
