WELCOME FRIEND COX, and old and well known resident of Fairfield, died at his home in the southwestern part of town Tuesday morning about 5 o’clock. Cancer of the stomach….Leaves a wife and six children….he was and honest and honorable man…(Ledger, Aug. 28, 1895 (3-2) “about fifty-five years of age….”)
