Verda 'Joyce' KELLER

Verda "Joyce" KELLER, 70, Fairfield, died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

The funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday at Stockport Christian Church in Stockport, with the Rev. Nathan Chaplin officiating. Burial will be at Spencer Cemetery, following the service (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Stockport Christian Church. Cards and memorials can be mailed to 2286 Peppermint Blvd., Fairfield 52556. Online condolences can be made at www.behnerfh.com.

Mrs. KELLER was born Oct. 29, 1946, in Van Buren County to John WESTERCAMP and Elsie TRIPLETT WESTERCAMP. She married Richard M. KELLER Sept. 10, 1966, in Stockport.

She grew up on her parent's farm near Bonaparte and attended country school and Bonaparte school in her early years. She graduated valedictorian from Harmony High School in 1964.

She was a member of the Stockport Christian Church and was very active in all church activities. She taught Sunday school and served as a deaconess.

She was talented as a cook, teacher, and encourager, and shared with her abilities to garden.

Mrs. KELLER worked with her husband in all aspects of farm life. She also worked as a cook at Fairfield High School for 17 years.

She was devoted to raising her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include: her husband Richard KELLER; children Matthew (Beatrice) KELLER of Council Bluffs, Philip (Sarah) KELLER of Berthoud, Colorado, Trevor (Naomi) KELLER of Council Bluffs, and Bethany (William) SCHEIDECKER of North Liberty; 15 grandchildren; brothers John Charles, LaVern, Rex, Max, Marvin, and David WESTERCAMP, all of Van Buren County; and sisters, Velma CASTON of Burlington and Audrey CASTON of Mason City.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother Hubert WESTERCAMP; and sister Vivian KREISS.
