Veryl R. EDGERLY

Veryl R. EDGERLY, 82, formerly of Eldon died Monday, April 24, 2017, at his home in Lawton, Oklahoma.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Douds (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is handling the graveside service.

Mr. EDGERLY was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Libertyville to Ralph EDGERLY and Edith TWEEDY EDGERLY.

He grew up on an Iowa farm and attended the Turkey Scratch and Buzzard Glory one-room school houses. He graduated in 1953 from Eldon High School and went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts from Southern Bible College in Houston, Texas. He was an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Church of God for 59 years, pastoring churches in Georgia, Wisconsin, Texas, and Oklahoma. He also served as the district bishop of Wisconsin and New Mexico.

Survivors include: his wife, Sally WILLIAMS EDGERLY; three children, Vernon (Veronica) EDGERLY, Renee (Robert) FLETCHER, and Ruthie (Shawn) OBERG; numerous grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Berneice ADAY EDGERLY; brother, George; and daughter, Linda Aday HATCHER.
