Melvin Carl MILLER

Melvin Carl MILLER, 78, of Springfield, Missouri, died Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Cox Medical Center in Springfield.

The body was cremated. A private inurnment will be in Batavia Cemetery.

Mr. MILLER was born May 17, 1938, in Abingdon to Glenn H. and Irene GRINSTEAD MILLER. He married Anna Marie SMITH Aug. 17, 1982.

He graduated from Batavia High School in 1956. He lived in Batavia and Packwood before moving to Fort Collins, Colorado, in 1965. He lived in Springfield the last 32 years.

Mr. MILLER was a self-employed contractor in commercial and residential properties.

Survivors include: wife, Anna Marie; daughters, Rhonda SULLIVAN of Casper, Wyoming, and Paula (Dennis) FEALY of Palouse, Washington; son, Steven (Sherry) MILLER of Loveland, Colorado; stepson, Dan TROUT, also of Loveland; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandcildren; brother, G. Michael MILLER of Ottumwa; four sisters, Joan VAN BLARICOME of Batavia, Janet McCLAIN of Ottumwa, Judy RUPE of Ottumwa and Lisa MILLER of Altoona.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Melvin Carl MILLER Jr.; sisters, Marilyn Joyce DAGE and infant Linda Kay MILLER.
