Margery E. JOHNSON, 92, of Pleasant Plain, died early Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at Prairie Park Care Center in Lone Tree (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

Margery Elizabeth JOHNSON

Margery Elizabeth JOHNSON, 92, of Pleasant Plain, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at Lone Tree Health Care Center in Lone Tree.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, with the Rev. Darryl Carr officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Plain Cemetery.

Visitation opens at 1 p.m. Thursday immediately preceding the funeral.

Memorials to American Cancer Society can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 6963 Wapsi Ave. SE, Lone Tree 52755.

She was born Jan. 17, 1925, in West Chester to William Ernest and Irma Margaret TANSEY VAN SICKLE. She married Keith DAERING Jan. 1, 1945. He died Nov. 4, 1963. She married Floyd JOHNSON (sic - Raymond Floyd JOHNSON) Sept. 7, 1968, and he died April 11, 2007.

Mrs. JOHNSON graduated from West Chester High School in 1943.

She worked in Fairfield and Iowa City and actively on their farm. She winteredin (sic) Mesa, Arizona, beginning in 1992.

Survivors include: stepdaughters, Barbara (Michael) SCARFF of Palm Desert, California, Terri (Tom) BELL of Lone Tree and Karen (Greg) BREMER of Independence, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law Nancy GRONSETH of St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husbands; stepson, Ray JOHNSON (note: on Feb. 2, 2017); one granddaughter; and brothers, Bill and Lyle VAN SICKLE.
