Martha E. ASBY, 95, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant (note: in Henry Co., IA).
According to her wishes, cremation has been accorded. A service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. ASBY was born May 27, 1921, in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Clark and Louetta Blanche PEARSON CAMPBELL. She married Howard ASBY May 23, 1951.
She graduated from Prairie City High School in Illinois.
Mrs. ASBY was a homemaker on their farm southeast of Mt. Pleasant for many years. She also worked at J.C. Penney Company in Mt. Pleasant and at Mustang Market in Olds.
Her pastimes included cooking, canning, preparing gourmet foods, gardening and sewing.
She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and the Let's Be Sociable Club. She was of the Christian faith and a member of Congregational Church in Mt. Pleasant.
Survivors include: children, Rodney (Shirley) ASBY of Alburnette, Roger (Nancy) ASBY of Lockridge, Zora (Pat) TROIANI of Houston, Texas, Lola (Merlin) MILLER of Iowa City, and Ellen (Owen) JULIUS of Millstone, New Jersey; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Don ASBY of Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; step-daughter, Elsie ASBY; two sisters; and one brother.

Martha E. ASBY, 95, of Mt. Pleasant died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.
According to her wishes cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Gary Van Nyhuis officiating. Burial will follow in the Kossuth Cemetery in Mediapolis (note: in Des Moines Co., IA).
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
