Letha M. Bond, 88, of Washington, Iowa, and formerly of Richland, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at Washington Care Center in Washington.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with Carol Long officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery in Richland.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home, prior to the funeral.

A general memorial has been established.

Mrs. Bond was born May 29, 1916, in Knoxville, the daughter of Charles and Lettie Hughes Carriker. She married Lawrence "Pedro" Bond in 1936 in Bucklin, Mo. He died Jan. 24, 1995.

She attended school in Knoxville. A longtime resident of Richland, she was employed by Advanced Ross in Washington, Universal Producing Co. in Fairfield and Washington Care Center in Washington. She also was employed as a housekeeper in Richland. She moved to Washington Care Center in Washington in 1994.

Survivors include two brothers, Charles Carriker of San Bernardino, Calif., and James Carricker of Bloomington, Calif.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Chester Carriker; and three sisters, Mabel Carriker, Irene Nelson and Frances Hesseltine.
