Myron S. "Pete" Fetters, 93, of Fairfield and formerly of Batavia, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at Nelson Nursing Home.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kremer Funeral Chapel in Batavia, with the Rev. John Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery in Batavia.

Open visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with family present from 7-8 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established.

Mr. Fetters was born Oct. 7, 1911, in Batavia, the son of Sanford and Mamie Swartout Fetters. He married Viola Morrison; they later divorced. He then married Eunice Ireland; she died Sept. 24, 1980. He later married Doris Ware. She died in 2000.

After schooling in the Batavia area, he was employed for several years in the Quad Cities area. He farmed most of his adult life in Davis County before returning to Batavia.

Survivors include three daughters, Sharen Gollond of Council Bluffs, Doris White and husband Smokey of Richland and Debora Barnes of Eldon; 14 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elsie Harroon of Aledo, Ill.

In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Ward; two sons, Herman Fetters and John Fetters; and one brother, Earl Thomas Fetters.
