C.C. ROGERS Rites Set

PLEASANT PLAIN - Curtis Clarence ROGERS, 87, longtime resident of the Pleasant Plain community, died Friday at 6 p.m. at the Long Term Care Center of the Washington County Hospital at Washington. He had been a patient there two years.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 2, at the Pleasant Plain Friends Church with the Rev. Wade Dillavou officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Plain Cemetery with the Gould Funeral Home in Richland in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established for the church.

Curtis Clarence ROGERS was born July 4, 1886, in Millersburg, Ill., the son of Daniel and S. and Olive YORK ROGERS. He was married Feb. 3, 1903, to Beulah HARRIS in Mexico, Mo. She died Feb. 21, 1972.

The couple came to Iowa soon after their marriage and farmed near Richland. They lived on the home place 46 years.

Mrs. ROGERS served as a rural correspondent for the Fairfield Daily Ledger for a number of years until her health failed.

Survivors include two sons, Curtis Eldon, Tucson, Ariz., and Roy Weldon, near Brighton; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel, Nashville, Tenn., and Oren, San Bernadino (sic - San Bernardino), Calif.; and three sisters, Mrs. Saida BOWMAN, Versailles, Mo.; Mrs. Leona BARKER, Wellsville, Mo.; and Mrs. Lenna SANDERS, Sunrise Beach, Mo.

Rogers was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. He was a member of the Pleasant Plain Friends Church.
