Ronald N. "Ron" McCLEARY, 68, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Lake Ozark. Interment, with full military honors, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Jackson Township Cemetery in Iowa Falls (note: in Hardin Co., IA).
Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Saturday, prior to the funeral, at the church.
Memorial donations are suggested to Christ the King Lutheran Church Building Fund. Expressions of sympathy can be placed on line at www.hedgesscottfuneralhomes.com.
Arrangements have been placed under the care of Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri.
Mr. McCLEARY was born Aug. 21, 1947, in Fairfield, the son of Norvel and Dorothy HUFFMAN McCLEARY. He married Alana NOREM May 29, 2010, in Sioux Falls.
Mr. McCLEARY grew up in Iowa and graduated from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Missouri.
He served in the U.S. Navy and, after being honorably discharged, farmed in Iowa. He enjoyed showing cattle and shared his knowledge of farming and cattle with 4-H groups.
He was a member of the Libertyville Farmers Coop in Libertyville.
Most recently, he worked in heavy equipment sales in Eldon, Missouri.
Mr. McCLEARY loved Lake of the Ozarks, and boating on the lake was one of his favorite things to do. He was an avid gardener and worked with the Gospel Gardeners group through Christ the King Lutheran Church, where he was a member.
Survivors include: his wife Alana; four sons, Chad McCLEARY and wife Michelle of Bourbonnais, Illinois, Kurt NOREM and wife Deeann of Olathe, Kansas, Patrick NOREM and wife Marla of Iowa Falls, and Lynn NOREM and wife Bonita of Iowa Falls; four daughters, Sara POOR and husband Jeff of Novelty, Missouri, Ashley STEPHENS of Kirksville, Missouri, Lindsay McCOMAS and husband Marcus of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Cassie MILLER and husband Levi of Lake Ozark; one sister, Marilyn McCLEARY of Aurora, Colorado; and 27 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his former wife, Barb McCLEARY; and one grandson.
