Donald BISGARD

Donald BISGARD, 57, of Menomonee Falls, WI, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2016 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.

Don was born on July 7, 1958 in Ottumwa, IA to Earl and Nila (BRAWNER) BISGARD. He and his family lived in several small communities in Iowa as his father worked for a railroad company. When he was in sixth grade, they settled in Fairfield, IA, where Don graduated from Fairfield High School in 1976. Don was known for playing in the band and being a great dancer at school dances by spinning his partner around, doing flips, doing the splits, and popping right back up. He graduated from Indian Hills Community College in 1978 with a degree in Computer Programming.

Don married Coleen DREY in Morrison, IL on May 3, 1980 after they met at Nielsen Clearing House in Clinton, IA, where they both worked. They lived in the Quad City area during their early years of marriage, and then moved to the Milwaukee area in 1984. Don worked as a computer programmer for different companies throughout the years, and was currently employed by US Bank. He was a very devoted husband and father and was close to his extended family. Don was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls where he was an usher for many years. In his spare time, Don really enjoyed playing golf-he got a hole in one, doing yard work, playing '500' and Cribbage, visiting relatives in Iowa and Illinois, cheering on his kids and their events, helping people, and joking the whole time. He taught everyone how to laugh during any situation. Don loved music and whisking his wife around the dance floor.

Survivors include his wife, Coleen; two daughters, Megan (Scott) TATZEL of Waunakee, WI, and Jessica, Menomonee Falls, WI; one son, Brandon, Menomonee Falls, WI; his father, Earl, of Fairfield, IA; his twin sister, Diane (Jim) BISSIG of Mason City, IA; two brothers, Dennis (Patti) BISGARD of Chariton, IA; Darrel (Brenda) BISGARD of Fairfield, IA; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nila; and one brother, Gerald.

Visitation will be Thurs., March 10 from 4-7 PM at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, N84 W17397 Menomonee Ave., Menomonee Falls. Funeral Services will be held Fri., March 11 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, W156 N8131 Pilgrim Rd., Menomonee Falls at 10 AM. Burial will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Bi-County Special Olympics or the Definitely-Abled Fellowship at Holy Cross are appreciated.
