Beatrice BLAKE, 86, of Fairfield, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, in Wisconsin.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Eickemeyer Funeral Home in Bedford.

Beatrice Faye BLAKE

Beatrice Faye BLAKE, 86, of Fairfield, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.

A graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Fairview Cemetery in Bedford.

Visitation, with family present, will be 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at Eickemeyer Funeral Home in Bedford.

Memorials can be made to hospice or donors choice. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.raymondfuneralhomes.com.

Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield and Eickemeyer Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. BLAKE was born May 29, 1929, in Conway, the daughter of Newton Emmett and Katie Norene ANTHONY BOYD. She married Robert Leroy BLAKE Nov. 2, 1946, in Shenandoah. He died May 20, 1987.

Mrs. BLAKE grew up in the Bedford area and graduated high school. She taught in country schools prior to her marriage. She was an advocate for higher education and loved to learn. As she raised a family and helped with the farm, she was able to attend college and obtained her master's degree in special education. She taught in the Keota school district for many years. She retired in her 70s, continued to learn and obtained a pharmacy technician license.

She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.

She loved to travel, visted (sic) all 50 states and overseas. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was instrumental in planning family reunions every year.

In 2013, Mrs. BLAKE moved to Fairfield to be closer to her daughter.

Survivors include: one son, Ed BLAKE and wife Tami of Farragut; one daughter, Patti REDINGER and husband Steve of Fairfield; two sisters, Irma BURKS of Palmdale, California, and Margie POLEN of Elyria, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; one son, Richard Lee BLAKE; one daughter, Kay Elaine PAXTON; and one sister, Wilma BURKS.
